• The 2007 UIC George Krambles Transportation Scholarship Program announced the awarding of three scholarships totaling $2,000. The $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded to Yandan Lu, PhD student in the Urban Planning and Policy Program and a Research Assistant at the Urban Transportation Center. Yandan's paper is titled The Influence of Urban Forms on Work Travel Behavior: An Exploration Using Agent-Based Modeling. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to Stephen Hunt and Tanushri Swarup, both Masters students in Urban Planning and Policy Program and Research Assistants at the Urban Transportation Center. Stephen's paper is titled Volunteer Driver Programs in Coordinated Human Service Transportation Plans and Tanushri's paper is titled Passenger Intermodal Transportation: A Review of the Progress of the Passenger Intermodal Sector. Ms. Liang Long, PhD candidate in Transportation Engineering and UTC research assistant, was chosen by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Illinois section as the recipient for both the ITE 2006 Best Student Paper Award and the ITE 2006 Student Scholarship. The title of her paper is "Transferability of Household Travel Data Across Neighborhood Types and Geographic Areas Using NHTS." Liang was a guest of honor and received the awards at the ITE-Illinois Chapter 2006 annual dinner banquet on January 12th, 2007.
